    Ash vs Evil Dead

    Set Somewhere in Michigan

Bruce Campbell stars in this series based off of the cult classics: Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness.  The show and the movies all take place somewhere in Michigan, perhaps even West Michigan since the shotgun owned by the main character was said to be built right here in Grand Rapids.  The show is about to start its 4th season this fall, you can check it out on Starz or HULU.

    Martin

    Set in Metro Detroit

MARTIN!  He's the man!  This 90's classic was extremely popular in Michigan and entire country for that matter.  As the FOX Network started to grow in popularity, Martin was their flagship sitcom and highest rated show.  The show ended prematurely when Martin Lawrence's co-star, Tisha Campbell, filed a sexual harassment suit against Martin in the fifth and final season.  You can watch reruns on BET or Amazon.

    Sister Sister

    Set in Metro Detroit

Sister, Sister!  Never knew how much I missed ya!  Sorry, I can't help but bust out in song when I see this show.  This show is about twin sisters separated at birth and reunited as teens.  The two sisters, Tia and Tamera, come from different upbringings and have very different views on life.  Tia is an extremely intelligent girl who grew up in inner-city Detroit and her sister Tamera is boy crazy from the Metro Detroit suburbs.  The show lasted 6 seasons, but is rumored to possibly be getting a reboot.  You can watch the show on DVD or catch the random rerun on TV.

    Freaks and Geeks

    Set in Metro Detroit

This one season cult classic has more movie stars in it than almost any show on television, ever.  Set in the fictional town of Chippewa, Michigan, the show follows two groups of high school students over the period of a year.  The show was cancelled after 15 episodes due to poor ratings, but fans were devastated and started a write in campaign and NBC responded by airing 3 more episodes that wrapped up the story for all of the characters.  You can watch all 18 episodes on Netflix.
