6 New Stores Coming to RiverTown Crossings in Grandville

If you grew up in West Michigan, RiverTown Crossings probably holds a lot of core memories for you. The Grandville mall was always a must-visit for Christmas and back-to-school shopping when I was a kid. I'll admit, since I now live in southeast Grand Rapids, I've become more of a Woodland Mall gal, but RiverTown will always be special to me.

That said, it's been a few years since I've visited, and a whole lot has changed.

Just this year, RiverTown said goodbye to one of its biggest tenants. Macy's closed its doors at the mall at the end of March as part of the department store's nationwide store reduction. The huge former Macy's space is currently available for lease, and as far as I can tell, what's moving in hasn't been announced yet.

But there's been plenty of investment in other parts of the mall.

Celebration Cinema has gone through a major makeover as part of a $5.8 million renovation project. The first phase brought luxury heated recliners, updated hallways and bathrooms, and a new premium auditorium with Dolby Atmos sound and 4K laser projection.

Then came phase two, which completely changed the entrance experience. The theater got a redesigned lobby and a brand-new Oscar's Restaurant & Bar, which is open to moviegoers and regular mall shoppers. You can grab everything from pizza and burgers to quesadillas and appetizers, along with beer, wine and cocktails.

And now, we've got six more reasons to make a trip to Grandville!

Six New Businesses Are Coming to RiverTown Crossings

RiverTown Crossings has announced six new businesses that will be opening soon, and there's a pretty interesting mix here.

I feel like international treats have been growing in popularity for a while, and one of the mall's new tenants will specialize in them. SNACK'D will carry goodies from more than 40 countries, along with nostalgic favorites, and its own homemade creations.

For the gamers and collectors, Summit Comics and Games is bringing comic books, board games, tabletop RPGs, trading cards, Funko Pops, minis, statues and plenty more.

Then there's Kako Claw, which sounds like a dangerous place for anyone who has ever said, "I'll just try one more time" at a claw machine. The new spot will carry plushies, anime figures and collectibles, along with a trade-up program where prizes can eventually lead to a grand prize.

Throw It Back is a dirty soda shop where you can get your non-alcoholic beverage fix. The space will available for private events with customizable packages too.

And finally, Katie's Heart & Home will bring a little bit of Christmas to the mall all year long, with holiday décor, unique gifts and curated subscription boxes.

Opening dates for all six businesses have not been announced yet, but RiverTown says more details are coming soon.

With all the changes we've seen at that mall this year, I'm pretty curious to see what RiverTown Crossings looks like the next time I make the drive over!
