Woman’s Goodwill Donation Turns Out to Be a Human Skull
Since 1902, Goodwill has accepted countless donations for years. You can imagine the unusual items that have passed through its doors, but a recent donation took things to a new level: a human skull.
Goodwill Stores

Michigan has around 63 Goodwill locations, operated by several independent regional chapters. Whether you’re looking for a great deal on a gently used item or trying to clear some clutter at home, Goodwill is a convenient place to shop and donate.

I have several friends who love spending an entire day browsing Goodwill stores to see what kind of deals they can find. I’m pretty sure none of them were shopping for a human skull, one Michigan Goodwill recently received a human skull as a donation.

Seen the Woman Who Dropped Off Human Skull at Goodwill?

Earlier this year, WXYZ-TV 7 reported that a clothing donation at the Chelsea, Michigan, Goodwill contained a human skull wrapped inside a T-shirt. Chelsea police turned the skull over to the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner, who was tasked with determining its identity and possible cause of death.

The medical examiner determined the skull belonged to an African American woman believed to be between 20 and 49 years old. However, the examiner could not determine her cause of death or how long she had been dead.

Police have asked the FBI to send the skull to a crime lab for further testing. Investigators have yet to identify the woman seen on security footage dropping off the donation.
