The Michigan city to make the cut is Saugatuck!

Nicknamed "The Great Art-Doors," Saugatuck/Douglas is home to Ox Bow School of Art, multiple galleries, and antique shops.

They also suggest climbing the 282 steps to the top of Mt. Baldhead for a gorgeous view of the beach and dunes. (I remember doing it as a kid, and my calves hurt just looking at these stairs! But still, totally worth it.)
