Our West Michigan food and drink scene keeps growing, and Saugatuck in particular is on a roll. Not long ago, we told you about Marker 14, the new seafood-forward restaurant and cocktail joint on the Kalamazoo River. Now, a new taproom and tapas bar is opening right in the heart of downtown.

A Taste of Madrid Comes to Downtown Saugatuck

It’s called Panoramic Beverage Company Taps & Tapas, located at 118 Hoffman St.

The new restaurant and bar comes from Saugatuck locals Dave and Lavinia Rodriguez. They bring plenty of experience to the table, having previously built two successful breweries while living in Madrid, Spain.

European Beers, Spanish Vermouth, and Small Plates

Panoramic Brewing is designed to feel like a modern Madrid bar, focusing on small shared plates, European-style beer, and Spanish vermouths. The drinks are made at their production facility in Saugatuck Township, with plans to add spirits to the lineup down the road.

Former Chicago Chef Crafts the Tapas Menu

To build the menu, they brought in culinary consultant Nick Von Ins. A long-time friend of the owners, Von Ins previously worked as executive sous chef at Chicago spots like Ceres and Bistro 110. Because he’s also a brewer, he’s helping design tapas specifically meant to complement what’s in your glass.
