West Michigan rocker Matt DiRito is using the fame of his band Pop Evil to do something awesome!

Fox 17 shares that last year, Matt launched the non-profit "Start Treatments" to help kids fighting cancer feel like rock stars.

The goal is to transport kids to and from their cancer treatments in a deluxe tour bus with full on VIP treatment.

Matt explains to Fox 17, “We pick them up at their house and take them from the house to the hospital, hospital and back. I can’t imagine having to be strapped in the backseat of a car for hours on end after just receiving a chemo treatment.”

The tour bus is loaded up with amenities to make the family comfortable: beds, couches, games, and TVs. Matt says he hopes it will help the kids and their families "heal on wheels".

He was inspired by a young Pop Evil fan named Jersey he met at a show who was battling cancer. Matt says they always tried to make the concert experience special for her, and "It sparked this idea-- What is something that these families need that they are not getting?"

So far, the non-profit has helped families in Iowa and Indiana. Matt says he hopes to sponsor a family in West Michigan soon.

We'll see Matt and the rest of Pop Evil August 21 at the Intersection for their CD release party!
