A new study has revealed the top 25 places to live in the Mitten State and one Michigan city is ranked among the top 100 best places to live in America.

Niche has released their annual Best Places to Live rankings for 2023.

To determine their ranking, Niche rated more than 18,000 cities and neighborhoods using federal data from the Census Bureau, FBI, Labor Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, plus reviews from residents.

They also collect data from schools and take into account reports on climate, local businesses, food availability, affordability, and more. You can find out more about Niche’s methodology here.

Niche says their goal is to help students and parents find schools and places to live that are right for them.

So which are the top places to live in Michigan?

The one Michigan city to make in into the top 100 of the best cities in America is Okemos.

Coming in at No. 29, Niche says of Okemos,

Okemos is a suburb of Lansing with a population of 25,179. Okemos is in Ingham County and is one of the best places to live in Michigan. Living in Okemos offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Okemos there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in Okemos and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Okemos are highly rated.
