Each year, U.S. News and World Report releases its ranking of the best states in the U.S. The publication takes into account thousands of data points to measure how well states are performing for their citizens. U.S. News considers things like health care, education, a state's economy, roads, infrastructure, pubic safety, natural environment, and more.

And well, Michigan didn't fair so well. It actually fell one spot from last year.

What's the best state in the U.S. according to U.S. News and World Report? Utah, for the third year in a row. What makes Utah so great? The study finds it No. 1 in fiscal stability, No. 3 in economy, and No. 3 in infrastructure. Now before Utah gets all full of itself, it did NOT score highly in natural environment, coming in wayyyy down at the bottom of the list at No. 48.

Michigan did beat out Utah in that category, coming in at No. 32. Which doesn't seem right to me at all. Michigan is gorgeous! Have they heard about the Great Lakes?? How about sand dunes? Lush forests? Waterfalls?
