Shades of Lavender opened to the public in 2018, offering classes to teach visitors how to use lavender in bath and body products, crafts, and culinary creations. Guests are encouraged visit and enjoy the "quiet serenity" and beauty of their lavender fields and watch as staff makes hand-crafted goods with lavender.

Sounds really cool right? So why is the owner selling? Janene Rawlinson tells MLive she got a career opportunity she just couldn't pass up,

“While I started the farm because of my interest in lavender, I was offered a great position at Stryker. I’ve been in the medical community for a long time and I’m transitioning back into that. It’s just a really awesome opportunity which I couldn’t pass up.”

Rawlinson says she hopes the new owner will keep continue the lavender farm, and is willing to help with the transition, but understands if they choose a different route. I could see someone expanding it into a wedding venue or renting it out as an Airbnb!

According to a Facebook post, Rawlinson plans to continue to keep Shades of Lavender open for the time being on Saturdays 10am-2pm.
