UPDATE: The City of Wyoming posted to their Facebook page that Mr. Mateo has been found safe.

ORIGINAL STORY: Over the weekend, 28th St. was packed due to the annual Metro Cruise car show featuring an abundance of vintage and unique cars. The event is typically very busy with lots of people visiting the event.

However, one of the people who attended this event has not been seen since, and to make things more alarming, the man is diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Due to the delicacy of this situation, the police have reached out to the public for assistance in finding the man from Wyoming.

  • Male
  • Hispanic
  • 5'8
  • "Very Skinny"
  • Wearing a:
    • Black hat with a green golf logo
    • Gray Sweater
    • Blue jeans
    • Sunglasses

Anyone with information regarding Patrick’s whereabouts is asked to contact Wyoming Police at 616-530-7300 or 911.

Alzheimer's Disease

The CDC defines Alzheimer's Disease as

"a progressive disease beginning with mild memory loss and possibly leading to loss of the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the environment."

The reason Wyoming Police have accelerated this Missing Person's case is largely due to memory loss and inability to respond to the environment. There is reasonable cause for concern that Patrick Mateo may be unaware of his surroundings, causing him to become lost and confused.
