Grand Rapids Juice Bar Shutting Down for Good
After more than a decade in business, a Grand Rapids juice and smoothie joint is permanently closing.
Malamiah Juice Bar shared the news to Facebook, saying that their last day in business at the YMCA will be Friday, June 30, 2023. Malamiah's wholesale juices will also no longer be available in stores.
In June 2021, owner Jamale Eddie was introduced to juicing through a documentary. He and his wife Anissa opened Malamiah Juice Bar in 2013.
In addition to juices and smoothies, Malamiah Juice Bar also served fruit and veggie bowls, bars, bagels, and soups.
The owners say,
This business has been a huge part of our lives for the last 10 years and we cannot express how grateful we are for all the ways we have been able to support the community and all the ways the community has supported us...We have so many amazing memories connected to the experience of developing this brand and building our unique J.U.I.C.E. Culture. From serving as the first place of employment for local youth and showing kids new ways to enjoy fruits and vegetables to helping people along on their health journeys and expanding the image of what a business owner looks like. This business has been the backdrop to the lives of our children and has connected us to innumerable opportunities. It has been a privilege to see the ways that Malamiah has been able to bless people through the years. None of it would have been possible without all of you.
Malamiah Juice bar will host a farewell celebration later this summer.
