Longtime, Beloved Kalamazoo Bar is Closing for Good

Kalamazoo is saying goodbye to a bar and restaurant that's been around for more than 30 years.

The no-nonsense joint calls itself "Kalamazoo's official rugby bar" and the city's "late night spot."

Located between downtown Kalamazoo and college campuses Rugger's Up and Under has been a favorite of students, ruby teams, locals and visitors alike for decades.

You'll have to visit soon if you want to grab a beer and a bite and say goodbye as it's permanently closing.

Rugger's is where folks have gathered for billiards, karaoke, concerts, special events, parties, dancing, drinks and dinner with friends. There's a large menu that features loads of appetizers, soups, salads, wraps, burgers, quesadillas, sandwiches, mac and cheese bowls, hot dogs, and more.

Rugger's Up and Under announced it's closure on social media on Tuesday, saying:

Rugger's will be operating as usual until March 15.

So many are coming forward in the comments to share their sadness at the announcements and their good memories of Rugger's.
