Nonla Burger Teases New Knapp's Corner Restaurant

Nonla Burger dropped a teaser on social media confirming they're putting the final touches on a new Grand Rapids spot in the Knapp's Corner area:

While the post kept the specific address under wraps, local Redditors had already put the pieces together. Sleuths spotted new Nonla Burger signs up at Celebration Village (2090 Celebration Dr. NE), moving into the former Firehouse Subs space across from Celebration Cinema North.

The Nonla Story and Menu

Co-owners Johnny and Kelly Nguyen alongside Kyle and Natashia Monk first brought Nonla from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids in late 2022 when they opened on Bridge Street. Johnny brings a Michelin-starred background to casual comfort food, and it shows.

Alongside their Burdick Street and Drake Road spots in Kalamazoo, plus their new quick-serve Asian concept called Hot Box next door on Drake Road, this will be their second GR location.

The restaurant is known for their classics like the N.B. Double (two Angus beef smash patties stacked with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and Nonla spread), the hand-dipped Hot Chicken Sando, and loaded Nonla Way Fries topped with melted cheese, grilled onions, jalapeños, and cilantro. For sides and apps, they also serve up crispy wings and fried Brussels sprouts.

Rotating Chef Specials and Shakes

Part of the fun with Nonla is their super creative rotating specials. You might see juicy burgers topped with pickled bean sprouts, caramelized onions, fried pickles, BBQ burnt ends, truffle aioli, portobello mushrooms, garlic-battered cheese curds, or a sunny-side-up egg.

They also run rotating sandwich creations like Chicken Parmesan, Philly Cheesesteak, Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly, Icelandic Cod, and Pork Belly Banh Mi, plus wraps, quesadillas, breakfast items, and specialty hot dogs.

For dessert, their "Shake of the Day" gives sweet treats their own moment to shine. They routinely drop over-the-top specialty flavors like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Salted Caramel Pretzel, Mint Chocolate Cookie Monster, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

When Is Nonla Burger Opening in Knapp's Corner?

Owners shared the new restaurant on Celebration Drive NE is holding its grand opening October 6, starting at 11 a.m.

The first 100 customers will get a $10 Nonla Burger E-gift card. If you're one of them, buy any burger or sandwich and they'll send you a $10 gift card for your next visit. Note the gift card can be used at any Nonla restaurant, just not opening day at Knapp's Corner.
