Grand Rapids is saying goodbye to another restaurant.
After three years in business, a downtown seafood eatery has closed its doors.

It's always sad to see a restaurant close, but this one really bums me out because I really liked Beacon Corner Bar! I wrote about it opening up soon at the end of 2021 and I was so excited to eat there as it was from the same owners as Sanchez next door on Fulton St.
Beacon Corner Bar opened in January of 2022. From my first visit I loved the nautical décor, cocktails, and of course the yummy food.

Beacon described it's menu as offering dishes from three coasts: East, West, and Michigan. Particular favorites of mine were the seafood boils, the chilled seafood tower, and lobster roll.
Other offerings included brown butter perch, sirloin, build your own linguini, fried fish baskets, smash burgers, and more.
Wish I could have stopped in one last time! Sadly, the owners shared the news of Beacon Corner Bar's closure to Facebook on Thursday, citing rising food costs and other challenges.
They write,
With heavy hearts, we have made the difficult decision to close Beacon Corner Bar. Rising food costs and other challenges have made it impossible for us to continue, but we are so grateful for the incredible three years we had with all of you. To our amazing staff, loyal guests, and everyone who supported us- thank you. Your love for great food, good drinks, and community made Beacon something special. While this chapter is closing, we’re exploring new possibilities for the space, stay tuned for our next adventure! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey
Beacon Corner Bar is now listed as permanently closed on Google.

Beacon Corner Bar was truly something special. Thank you for the incredible food, drinks, and warm atmosphere you created. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter
Jennifer says,
I loved your lobster rolls! I am SOOOO sad. This was the cutest place ever!

Thank goodness Sanchez is still open! I've yet to try it, but the owners' other restaurant ROAM remains open as well.
