One of the most popular comedians and one of the best players in the NFL recently got "cold as balls" together to discuss Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown's rise from a low draft pick on a struggling team to one of the most sought-after jerseys in the NFL.

Originally Not Sold On Detroit

The most candid part of this interview was opening up about his reaction to getting drafted by the Lions. After talking about growing up in a sports family, with brothers who also played college football, St. Brown graduated from USC and entered the draft. He was picked 112th overall, and initially wasn't thrilled with who selected him:

“I love the city, but at the time I was like, ‘F***, I’m going to Detroit,’”

To which Kevin Hart replied,

"Yeah, it's tough, cause no there's shot at Detroit. You gotta learn Detroit to love Detroit."

Which I think is a pretty valid response. If you're playing for a team that traditionally has a bad record, you have to love your environment, otherwise, you'll hate your situation. Matthew Stafford is a great example of this; he loved Detroit despite posting many losing seasons and stayed in Detroit much of his career.

What Went Wrong Last Season?

The other candid moment came when Hart asked St. Brown, "What happened this year?", referencing the way the Lions were upset by the Washington Commanders 45-31 in the NFC divisional round after having the best season in program history.

"Washington, they played a good game. We had some turnovers, you wish you could have those back, but they took care of the ball better than us."

You could tell who the athlete was based on who spent the most time in the ice bath. St. Brown asked Hart multiple times if he was planning on getting in anytime soon, and one crew member went up to Hart to try forcing him to submerge his upper torso into the water.
