Kent County Hiring Now: Jobs Up to $120K

More than a dozen positions are open across multiple departments. Pay starts around $16 an hour and reaches more than $120,000 a year depending on the role.

Roles That Focus on Community Impact

Some of the newest openings are centered on direct community work.

At the Animal Shelter, there are two different roles available. A part-time Animal Shelter Technician helps with daily care, monitoring health, and assisting with adoptions. A full-time Shelter Veterinarian role offers a salary topping $120,000 a year.

Kent County is also hiring a Public Health Nurse, a Senior Center Specialist who works with older adults, and a Weatherization and Housing Specialist focused on improving energy efficiency for local homes.

Legal and Administrative Positions Open

There are several openings in legal and office roles as well.

The county is hiring an Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, both with salaries in the $80,000 to $90,000 range. Other positions include Clerk III in Probate Court, Buyer, and Landbase Administration Technician.

Outdoor and Hands-On Jobs Available

There are also options for those looking for more active or seasonal work.

A Resource Recovery Specialist will support environmental programs and hazardous waste collection. Seasonal Parks Worker positions are open for those who want to work outdoors this summer. There is also a Cook position at the Juvenile Detention Center.
