Did You See It? Michigan High School Football Team Featured in Super Bowl Pregame Hype Video

Of course the Super Bowl is watched for the action on the field, the halftime performance and the commercials.

Some tune in to the pregame whether hours before kickoff or the few minutes leading up to the game.

The NFL on Fox pregame broadcast featured a patriotic-theme hype video narrated by Brad Pitt on the subject of 'The Huddle.' The video connected the football huddle with connectivity sought for by everyday Americas.

The imagery used throughout the video was the collaboration of teams from the military to first responders to youth sports.

Eagle-eyed viewers in one Michigan city took to social  media when they spotted their hometown team featured in the video.

The short video clip, less than a second in the 4:44 piece, showed the football team from Benton Harbor High School huddling up with former head coach Elliot Uzelac.

It moment appears at the 4:00 mark:

Uzelac is a former Michigan high school coach of the year - celebrated by the Detroit Lions in 2016. The coach took over the moribund team in the mid-2010s. In his first two seasons, he led the Benton Harbor Tigers to their first winning season in 26 years and first appearances in the state playoffs.

He came to the school after several decades coaching the college ranks including head coaching positions at Western Michigan and the Naval Academy.

It was the press box at Filstrip Field in the background of the Pitt video that helped tip of viewers in Benton Harbor to their team being featured.

The clip featured in the video likely came from this 2015 moment after Benton Harbor defeated Dowagiac. Coach huddles up the team and noted they just won the first playoff game in school history.

The story of Uzelac's Tiger Turnaround was a viral story as the time and earned a feature on ESPN's SportsCenter:

The fairy tale story of Coach Uzelac and the Benton Harbor Tigers, does, unfortunately, not have the happiest of endings. The coach left the team after his short, successful tenure in what was cited as a dispute with the school district's board of education.
