The Gulf of Mexico Renamed The Gulf of America
I'm not sure how renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America lowers gas prices, groceries, auto and home insurance, and health insurance, or lowers my taxes because it does none of those.

Originally Google said it was changing its maps but that has not happened yet in all my searches. How it's supposed to work is users in Mexico will continue to see "Gulf of Mexico" and users in America will see "Gulf of America." Other countries around the globe will see both.

Many official names vary between countries but each country uses its local map for naming purposes. On that note, some Michiganders have suggested renaming the Great Lakes.
Should The Great Lakes Be Renamed?
After renaming the Gulf of Mexico, Michigander Mike Karl suggested renaming the Great Lakes on his Facebook page. Below are what other Michiganders had to say on the thread:
I know Saginaw Bay is technically not a Great Lake but Faygo Bay has a nice ring to it.
I don't think Ohio would complain about Lake Strohs. I like it.
Lake St. Clair is not a Great Lake but is connected to Lake Erie so Lake Pierogi is not a stretch, is it?
Now that's "Pure Michigan" right there.
There's nothing wrong with a little love for our neighbors in Canada especially if Lake Huron gets turned into Lake Strohs.
