Last year we told you about an indoor/outdoor golf facility similar to Top Golf that had been proposed in Grand Rapids.

While not an actual Top Golf, city officials are hoping to create a scaled-down version that would still be a tourist draw.

The proposed facility would not have as many bays at Top Golf, but would have similar amenities where you can get food, drinks, and socialize, City Manager David Marquardt told Wood TV 8.

He continued,

The model we would be looking at would be indoor and outdoor. It would have some flexibility. On some days when we do get that nice Michigan weather, you can have that option to be outside and be a part of that experience. But when you have those Michigan days that aren’t so hot, you’ll have that option to be a little more secure and protected.

The location of the new golf facility would be the City-owned, 18-hole Indian Trails Golf Course on Kalamazoo Ave. A new club house is also being proposed, with possibly a new restaurant and rooftop area, and the City wants to hear from you!

They're gauging community interest with a survey that you can fill out here.

You're asked questions about your golfing habits and if the new facility would make you more likely to visit Indian Trails, and what kind of amenities you'd like see come to the course and clubhouse, among other things.

It's anonymous and should take less than five minutes.
