Grand Valley State University Collabs With GR Distillery To Make Canned Cocktail
It's a good day to be a Grand Valley State University (GVSU) alumni. Whether you're still a student, want to reminisce about the good old days, or just want a tasty drink, you can now enjoy being a Laker anytime with a new canned cocktail created just for GVSU.
Long Road Distillery, an award-winning Grand Rapids-based distillery owned by GVSU alumni Jon O'Conner and Kyle Van Strien, has partnered with their alma mater to create Lake + Valley Lemonade, the university's first official canned cocktail. The press release describes the drink as a "refreshing balance of lemon and blueberry with a hint of basil".
It will sport the University's official athletic logo and be available for purchase at Lubber's Stadium, online via the Spirit Finder, and local vendors. A portion of all Lake + Valley purchase sales will go back to the University's general fund, so your drink will benefit both your tastebuds AND the University. Does it get much better than that?'

The collaboration comes on the heels of Governor Gretchen Whitmer passing a law that legally allows universities to begin serving alcohol at sports venues on college campuses. Michigan schools quickly acted on the ruling, with the University of Michigan announcing in May they too would begin serving alcohol.
The drink is on sale now. If you'll excuse me, I have to run to my local Horrocks and get myself a can before they're all gone. Bottoms up Anchor Up, West Michigan.
