Have you filed your income taxes for 2019 yet? If not, the deadline is quickly approaching.

There are some people that file as soon as they can and had their taxes completed back in January or February. Good for you! Then there are the rest of us who usually wait until the last minute. In mid-March, we were all starting to scurry around thinking about doing our Federal and State of Michigan taxes, which were originally due on April 15th. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, that deadline was extended to July 15th. There has been talk that the latest deadline might be extended, but that has not happened yet.

That means your Federal and State of Michigan tax returns are due by midnight on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 -- if you haven't already filed them.

Income tax returns for the city of Grand Rapids resident and non-resident individual tax returns are typically due on April 30th. That deadline has also been extended due to the coronavirus. The new deadline is Friday, July 31st.

The deadline for 2019 Walker resident and non-resident individual income tax returns was also extended to Friday, July 31st, 2020.

If you don't have any plans for the 4th of July holiday weekend because just about everything has been cancelled -- I guess you can always start your taxes!

Now, where did I put my W-2's and all my tax forms and receipts?
