I'm a big fan of buffets. Salad bars? Absolutely my favorite. If you love customizing your own dishes like I do, adding a little of this and a little of that to create your own culinary masterpiece, here is a new spot to check out. A build-your-own ramen restaurant has just opened up in Holland!

New Ramen and Boba Joint, Falam, Opens in Holland

Falam Holland is located at 430 West 17th Street, Suite 10, right next to King's Cove Beer, Wine and Spirits. The new restaurant officially opened its doors on September 24.

The menu features Burmese and Asian specialties, including a self-serve ramen bar. You start by browsing a selection of instant ramen packets from different brands and flavor profiles.

From there, start piling on the toppings. Choose from sliced meats, fish cakes, and eggs, along with fresh greens and vegetables like spinach, bok choy, bean sprouts, mushrooms, corn, and onions. Finish up by tweaking the flavor with extra seasonings, oils, and sauces.

Their drink setup covers a wide range of boba options, including matcha, coffee, brown sugar, fruit refreshers, and Yakult. If you haven't tried Yakult, it is a sweet, tangy probiotic milk drink from Japan that tastes a bit like a citrusy, drinkable yogurt. You can pair any of these with tapioca pearls, mango jelly, or popping peach boba.

Falam is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed on Sundays. Welcome to Holland, Falam! I'm planning a trip soon to get some of that self-serve ramen.
