What You Can Bring (and What’s Not Accepted)
Note that liquids, inhalers, patches, or syringes won’t be accepted, but all pills are fair game—and it’s completely anonymous. Once collected, the drugs are safely destroyed, no questions asked.

Why You Shouldn't Throw Away or Flush Prescription Drugs
Why not just toss old meds in the trash or flush them? Because those little pills don’t just disappear. They can end up in water systems and hurt wildlife—or worse, fall into the wrong hands. A few minutes spent dropping them off is a small step that makes a big difference.
Col. James F. Grady II, director of the MSP, said in a release,
Proper disposal of unused or expired prescription medication helps prevent misuse, protects the environment and keeps our communities safe. Taking a few minutes to clear out your medicine cabinet and properly dispose of expired and unused pills can make a real difference in preventing prescription drug abuse.”
Alternative Drop-Off Options
Not free on the 25th? No worries. MSP posts accept drop-offs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. You can find your closest location here.
