Dr. Pepper Is Secret to Long Life, 104-Year-Old Woman Says
More people are living past 100 years old these days and it's got a lot of us wondering: "What's the secret?"
Whether it's consuming raw eggs and staying single or eating White Castle regularly, each of these impressive elders has their own method to prolong their lives.
104-year-old Elizabeth Sullivan of Fort Worth, Texas, owes it all to Dr. Pepper.
Sullivan told Fort Worth's KTVT-TV:
Well at 103 I didn’t think I’d make it, but I’m still perking along.”
What keeps that pep in her step? Dr. Pepper.
Sullivan explains that while some people like coffee in the morning, she'd rather have Dr. Pepper.
She fell in love with the soft drink’s trademark 23 flavors when she was in her 60s:
“I started drinking them about 40 years ago. Three a day. Every doctor that sees me says they’ll kill you, but they die and I don’t. So there must be a mistake somewhere.”
Sullivan says she's happy she's still active, but other than that, and the Dr. Pepper, of course, she doesn't really have a secret living past 100, just that “you just keep living”.
