Dave & Buster's in Kentwood has been closed since the start of the pandemic and as a result, have made the hard to decision to permanently let 81 of their employees go.

The adult arcade and sports bar filed paperwork with the state of Michigan last week saying that these workers were temporarily furloughed in March, but because of the continued pandemic and "unforeseeable business circumstances" these furloughs will become layoffs starting November 8th.

There is a bright light, though, as D&B has no intentions on closing their Kentwood location and said in their paperwork they have plans to rehire people when the pandemic and economy improve.

WOOD-TV reports that the company's two other Michigan locations will also be experiencing layoffs. 111 people will be let go at the one in Livonia and 119 at Utica.

According to Dave & Buster's website, none of their Michigan locations are currently open. I called the Kentwood location and it immediately goes to voicemail stating that they are currently closed and reopening information can be found on their website.

Considering all entertainment venues have to remain closed under the current executive order in the state, it's unknown when D&B will be back open. I'm just glad that they aren't closing for good because I've got a lot of unused tickets and game points. Hopefully, it'll be sooner than later that I'm back there shooting dinosaurs and zombies and trying to get as many tickets playing Deal or No Deal.

Dave & Buster's is located at 3660 28th St. SE in Kentwood. It became the state's third location in 2015.
