The owner, Karlene Johnson, who opened the bakery in her hometown in 2011 shared on Facebook,

To every employee, customer, family member, and friend, the time has come for me to retire...
I doubt that few can comprehend my love for Smyrna, a love that started with my Grandparents Frank and Irma Mattison. Not only did they raise their family in Smyrna, but they actively supported many clubs and organizations here in our community. My parents, Karl and Frances Geiger carried on the traditions of being from Smyrna, owning Geiger Water Wells and supporting those same organizations and our community. I am so happy to include my children and grandchildren in this tradition of loving and supporting the Smyrna Community. The traditions run deep, and I will forever keep Smyrna in my heart and continue to support my hometown.
For now, it is time to close the doors at Otisco Bakery. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for the love and support.

Now the space is up for sale.

According to the listing, the building is located on a corner lot which "has a surprisingly good amount of thru traffic for a small town."

The building features a walk-in cooler, customer restroom, customer sitting or retail space, a back area prep room area, and a full unfinished dry basement for lots of potential storage or other uses.

The pole barn behind the building which is on a separate parcel is also included in the sale.

I think a lot of different businesses could work here, even if you're not necessarily interested in opening a bakery!

While the equipment, coolers, furnishings, and beer and wine license are not included in the sale, you are able to negotiate for them separately.
