Many people would love to own a private island. The only problem is that most people cannot afford such an expensive island property, but dreaming about it is free.

The thought of waking up and strolling out of your home to sit on a private beach with no one to disturb you or take all the spots is appealing. Unfortunately, many island homes have other homes on the island.

Being on an island with other homes on it is still cool, but usually not affordable for the average or even above-average income.  I have seen several islands with mansions for sale in Michigan, but you need millions of dollars to consider the purchase.

According to WXYZ, the island is roughly 150 feet by 150 feet. The home comes fully furnished and includes three bedrooms and one bathroom, with views from all sides of Dixie Lake.

Getting to and from the island is easier in the warmer months because you can use a boat. In the colder months, the previous owner would use an airboat or hovercraft to get to and from their island home. A nice feature about the homes location is that its 5-miles from downtown Clarkston and a short drive to Pine Knob Music Theater.

This home is listed for $600,000. That is a lot of money for most people and way out of my reach, but if you dreamed of owning a private island with a house on it, this has been the most affordable I have seen in Michigan. To get more details and set up a tour, click here.
