The Michigan high school football playoffs open this weekend with a number of big games and rivalry matchups in West Michigan.

Divisions 1-8 have been cut down to the top 32 teams with the playoffs set to begin on Friday. Most games are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:00 p.m., but there are games scheduled for other times including on Saturday.

Big local matchups in Division 1 include:

  • Grand Haven at Grandville
  • East Kentwood at Rockford

Division 3 finds Byron Center hosting Spring Lake, plus a couple of rivalry games:

  • Lowell at East Grand Rapids
  • Zeeland East at Zeeland West

Division 4:

  • Allendale at Catholic Central
  • South Christian at Grand Rapids Christian
