When it comes to beauty pageants there are the Big Four, which are the Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International, and the Miss Earth. Of these four the one that comes to mind is the Miss Universe since it is one that I used to watch on TV when I was much younger.

Then there is the Miss America competition which also got a lot of TV coverage when I was growing up. There is one competition that I just learned of today that has been around for 52 years and it's coming and the winner will be crowned in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Unlike the Miss America and Miss Universe competitions, Ms. Wheelchair America is not judged based on looks or talent but is based on advocacy, achievement, and presentation in order to acquire the most accomplished, articulate spokesperson to represent people with disabilities.

Ms. Wheelchair America 2024 will be at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel from August 28th through September 3rd when the winner will be crowned. All the event details and finalists can be found here.
