The festival also includes walking tours. All walking tours are free, last about 90 minutes and start at 555 Monroe. No need to register, just drop in.

During the tour you will learn:

  • The history of the Grand River.
  • The impact of the furniture industry on the River.
  • The rise- fall- rise of the Monroe North neighborhood.
  • The status of the return of the rapids project.

Dates and times for the walking tours:

  • Saturday, August 26 at 1 PM

2023 Michigan State of the State Art Contest Winners

The theme of the Michigan State of the State Art Contest was “What Makes Michigan Strong”, and students K-12 were encouraged to use crayons, markers, or paint to create a design to be used for the 2023 State of the State program cover. Here are the winner, and four runner-up designs.

50 Awesome Entries From The Fremont Harvest Festival Hay Art Competition

The public voted for their favorite display in different categories by dropping off canned or dry goods at the Fremont Chamber of Commerce office from Monday, September 19th through Friday, October 7th. They placed canned or dry goods next to the picture of their favorite Hay Art. The display that received the most “total weight” in food won the competition and was awarded the 2022 Community Choice winner. All the food would was donated to the True North Community Services - Food Pantry.
