A Pomsky is a "designer" dog - a mix between a Pomeranian and a Husky.

Harbor Humane Society says,

Twenty one innocent dogs were rescued by Ottawa County Animal Control and our team here at Harbor Humane from a breeding and hoarding situation earlier this week. Their living conditions were to a point that were unimaginable, existing in feces and urine, fur stains and mats that were causing them pain.

According to WZZM-13, an animal neglect complaint was filed with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office on Monday, Dec.. 4.

When officers responded to the 11000 block of Boyne Boulevard, they saw multiple dogs inside a trailer in "extremely poor" living conditions. Police could not locate the homeowner.

In addition to being covered in feces and urine, some of the dogs also had bite wounds.

Executive Director of Harbor Humane, Jen Self-Aulgur tells WZZM-13 it was a breeding operation that got out of control and turned into a hoarding situation.

The previous owner has now relinquished the dogs to Harbor Humane Society.

In a post to Facebook, Harbor Humane shared,

Once they are ready, can have their opportunity at a much brighter future. We are grateful to this person for making the right choice, so that they can be given this chance - sooner than later.

We also GREATLY need your financial support more than ever to help cover medical costs since their intake, and continue to provide the critical care to these 21, and countless others in need.

You can help support the shelter with donations here.

Another way to help is by raising awareness about these kinds of situations.

Harbor Humane says,

By choosing adoption or carefully vetted, ethical breeders, you contribute to the well-being of animals and help put an end to the cycle of neglect and suffering.
