The Kent County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help to identify suspects who may be responsible for a string of thefts and vandalism in the Cedar Springs area over the weekend.

Among recent incidents, parts of a monument honoring a fallen soldier were stolen from Memorial Park.

WZZM-13 reports that a replica rifle, dog tags, and a helmet were stolen from the Timothy Brown Monument. Now only a pair of boots remain at the monument honoring Spc.Tim Brown, a Cedar Springs graduate, who died during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Nov. 2005.

The monument was built after the community raised $10,000  to honor Brown and other fallen soldiers.

More than a dozen car larcenies have been reported in the area as well. Police also say Skinner Field was broken into and a concession stand vandalized.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department posted video of the break-in to Facebook, asking anyone with information to call Silent Observer at 1-866-774-2345 or message the Sheriff's office.
