Locking yourself out of your hotel room sucks, but everyone's done it.  It's inconvenient.  You have to walk all the way down to the lobby, tail between your legs, and ask for a new key.  Yeah, it sucks, but it's not the end of the world.  One guy in (shocking!) Florida who did just that took an alternate route to resolve the inconvenience.

This idiot was staying in a hotel when he locked himself out of his room.  Instead of doing the aforementioned trip to the lobby, this dope instead called 911.  He told the operator that he was locked out of his hotel room and that his daughter was locked inside, choking on a piece of candy.  He said that no hotel staff was around to let him back in.  So naturally, the 911 operator sent the police, fire department and paramedics to the scene.  When they arrived, the man was nowhere to be found, but eventually made his way back to the room where the crowd had gathered.  He told them that he had lied about the whole ordeal and called because he was locked out of his room.  No child was inside the room.  He simply needed to get back inside.

This dolt was arrested and charged with misuse of the 911 system.
