It's no secret how much I admire Halestorm, especially the lovely frontwoman, and self-proclaimed "Queen of Excessive Rock", Lzzy Hale. The band has been on a tear ever since releasing their self-titled debut album in 2009. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a new record but will have to wait until early next year. However, Lzzy assures us that the wait will be well worth it.

The follow-up to Halestorm was originally planned to be released this fall, but according to Lzzy in an interview with Revolver Magazine, execs at Atlantic Records loved the material that they already heard and wanted more.

"I ended up penning some of probably the most personal songs that I’ve ever written," says the hard rock vixen. "And then people with the label called me up. They’re like 'Hey, we didn’t know this about you! Uhh could you do more?'

"So we got really deep into it, and it’s good because now, like, we can see the record for what it is and it’s not gonna be this big, rush job to get it out, and then, you know, we might be disappointed with it later. We’re so excited right now about everything."

One particular new track that Lzzy is fond of is "I Hate It When You See Me Cry". The singer admits she used to hold a lot of her issues inside because she didn't want to be a burden to her bandmates.

"It’s interesting because, when I wrote it, the guys were like, 'You know what, you’re so right,' Lzzy revealed. "Because I used to hide a lot of stuff from them. I was kind of always keeping this camaraderie and this not really talking about or burdening anybody with some of my issues or some of the things that I’ve gone through. And so this time around, everyone’s kind of allowing me to do that, so I’m seeing the advantage of that."

The interview is a great read. Lzzy reveals what she thinks is the sexiest hard rock song ever, which that in itself is pretty damn sexy. She also posted on her Twitter account that Slipknot and Stone Sour leader Corey Taylor is the hottest dude in rock. While I wish Lzzy said that about me, I completely agree with that statement, especially after I got to talk one-on-one with Taylor earlier this year. They would make quite the hard rock power couple.
