Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington revealed some of the personal demons that he had to deal with in his life. The singer admitted that he was addicted to alcohol for many years.

Speaking to Kerrang! (via NME), Bennington stated that he was a "full blown, raging alcoholic" and doesn't drink anymore because he didn't like the person he had become.

"I don't drink," said Bennington. "I choose to be sober now. I have drunk over the last six years, but I just don't want to be that person anymore."

Bennington also opened up a little bit more about being sexually abused as a child. The frontman has said in the past that an older friend molested him when he was just seven-years old.

Said Bennington: "If I think back to when I was really young, to when I was being molested, to when all these horrible things were going on around me, I shudder."

Linkin Park are currently writing their fifth studio album, which is the follow-up to 2010's A Thousand Suns.
