Somebody out there is a serious Kurt Cobain fan (or seriously rich, take your pick).

Recently, auction service Julien's Live put the sweater that the famous Nirvana frontman wore on MTV's Unplugged up for auction. Although the sweater's original estimated value was $60,000, it's now been reported that the sweater sold for $137,500.

According to the site's description of the cardigan, "The sweater was obtained from a close friend of the Cobain family. A signed letter of authenticity and provenance from the Cobain family friend will be provided to the winning bidder." The identity of the winning bidder has not been released.

Most notably though, the lock of Kurt Cobain's hair that was to be put up for auction was removed from the sale. Because really, isn't owning someone's hair a bit excessive?
