Some days on this show are definitely cooler than others.  Today was one of those days.  We’ve been pretty pumped for the last few weeks, ever since we got word that rock legend Slash would be joining us IN STUDIO.  Guns, Velvet Revolver, and now some solo work.  Yeah, that Slash.  We’ve talked to him a couple of times on the phone and he’s never been anything but cool, so our expectations were high that this was going to be a good time.  Needless to say, he didn’t let us down one bit.

When you’re a rock star, there are certain things you can get away with that us mere mortals cannot.  Slash proved that this morning by knocking over his enormous cup of coffee, spilling it all over the console in the studio!  Within about 3 seconds of this Valdez-like disaster, about 15 people charged in to the studio and cleaned it up and tested to make sure everything was still working, laughing all along.  If one of us had done that, it most likely would have taken about 6 weeks for someone to even care.  Slash seemed pretty embarrassed by the whole thing and we all laughed about it in the next break.

We had some time to take some questions from listeners, including this question from Nick about how the whole top hat thing started.  Slash’s response went in a direction I didn’t expect.

To me, it’s always really reassuring to hear that rockstars are just regular people too, with fears and insecurities like the rest of us.  Really cool guy.
