Grand Rapids’ Rock Alternative 97.9 GRD and the Free Beer & Hot Wings Show are proud to present Wingstock 2011, June 11 to Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, MI.  Headlining the event are post-grunge rockers Seether, with support from Hinder, Sick Puppies and hometown boys Wayland.

“Wingstock 2011 is one of the first major summer concerts in Grand Rapids this year,” said WGRD Program Director Jerry “JT” Tarrants.  “We looked for artists who have mass appeal to not only with GRD listeners, but to West Michigan residents in general.  Coming off one of the worst concert seasons in 2010, we wanted to bring in quality acts for a reasonable price.”

“I’m really excited about this year’s lineup,” added WGRD Promotions Director Dave Kim.  “It has something for everyone.  Seether, Hinder and Sick Puppies have all found crossover success, and that should translate well at Wingstock.”

Wingstock 2011 Lineup:

Seether

Hailing from Pretoria, South Africa, Seether formed in 1999 and found success in hit singles “Fine Again”, “Broken”, “Fake It”, “Rise Above This” and more.  Seether are set to release their fifth studio album, Holding on to Strings Better Left to Fray, on May 17, 2011.

Hinder

Hinder’s popularity quickly took off with the release of their 2006 single, “Lips of an Angel”, and the band hasn’t looked back since.  Hinder released their third studio album, All American Nightmare, in December.

Sick Puppies

Sick Puppies didn’t start out as a household name, but their song “All The Same” was a worldwide smash hit thanks to the Free Hugs Campaign.  The “Free Hugs” music video has been viewed over 67 million times on YouTube.  Sick Puppies are currently touring in support of their latest album Tri-Polar, which contains “Maybe”, the Australian band’s most successful single to date.

Wayland

Named after the West Michigan city that they reside in, Wayland’s audience has been steadily increasing thanks to their spotlight on the Free Beer & Hot Wings Show’s “Lose/Lose Local Music Review”.  Wayland’s first single, “Shopping For A Savior”, was quickly added to GRD’s music rotation.
