Police need help identifying a group of people who attacked another man downtown Grand Rapids.

Wood-TV 8 reports that the assault happened Tuesday, July 28, around 10:15 p.m. near Monroe Avenue and Louis Street, close to Rosa Parks Circle.

A video was recorded that shows several people punching and kicking a man as he walked by the group.

GRPD put out a news release asking for the public's assistance identifying and locating the people in the video. Police Chief David Rahisky said, “While this is not the most heinous of crimes, the community and the Grand Rapids Police Department will not tolerate this behavior in our city.”

Police told Wood-TV 8 that the victim survived and did not get medical treatment. At this time, police do not know how the fight started.
