Last week a fight that quickly escalated between a Rapid bus driver and a 15-year-old was caught on camera.

WZZM-13 reports that charges have been filed against the two females.

The confrontation happened Thursday, April 30, on Tremont Boulevard near Union High School.

The Rapid has released video surveillance from inside the bus, obtained by MLive Media Group/ The Grand Rapids Press.

Sgt. Terry Dixon of the Grand Rapids Police Department told WZZM-13,

"Circumstances just got out of control. Our understanding of how this began was a verbal altercation, and it really escalated from there. The bus driver then proceeds to the exit of the bus to escort the 15-year-old off the bus. Once off the bus, at that point, that's where the physical altercation took place outside the bus."

The driver, Alicia Miller, 53, is charged with assault and battery. She has been suspended from her job at The Rapid since last week.

The Grand Rapids Public School student Miller fought with is charged with creating a disturbance and has been suspended from school for five days.
