Games To Try Before You Die: Mike Tyson’s Punch Out! (NES)

There are quite a few games that you need to own for your old skool NES. Some of those might be Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, Metroid, Contra, etc. You could most likely name off a ton of your favorite games. It would be a shame though if you didn't have the chance to take down 'IRON MIKE!' In what? MIKE TYSON'S PUNCH OUT!

What: Mike Tyson's Punch Out is a boxing game that you play as Little Mac. Doing your best in boxing matches to reach up to the champion Mike Tyson!

Why: To go along with the nostalgia of taking down Mike Tyson, this game is overall a classic. Boxing games have become realistic these days (aka Fight Night), but this was a game that was not to be taken seriously. Cartoony characters, quick rounds, etc. Man, DID WE LOVE IT! It was all about skill and pattern recognition. Characters like Glass Joe, Soda Popinski, Bald Bull, Piston Honda, all just destroyed us as kids, and for many, are still being destroyed today.

This was not an easy game at all, but it allowed you to get good at it by simple pattern recognition. Until you reached Mike Tyson...Tyson showed you how boxing worked.....with his knock out upper cut, you were down for the count! If you had a ton of patience and a stress ball, you could take down Tyson.
