It seems you can't get anywhere in Grand Rapids these days without running into some kind of construction. On Monday afternoon, things got even more complicated at MDOT shut down the Fulton Street bridge for construction. It will remained closed until Aug. 25.

The bridge is now closed over the Grand River. That closure got off to a late start on Monday afternoon. It was supposed to close earlier in the morning, but the project was slightly delayed.

During the closure, officials will be doing repairs and also resurfacing the bridge. This new project adds on to the long list of road construction projects in the area, including an extensive project in the s-curve.
