Applying to college is a lot of work. An important part of the process is searching for financial aid, but finding out what you qualify for can be both time consuming and confusing.

One group is offering free help in Grand Rapids for anyone seeking financial aid for college.

The Michigan Department of Treasury has announced that MI Student Aid will offer free counseling to parents, students and anyone seeking help with financial aid for college.

MI Student Aid will be at the Western Michigan National College Fair at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, March 28, from 8:30am - 11:30am and 6pm - 8pm.

The group will review all options for paying for college. They will also have financial aid workshops, assist with scholarship searches, discuss financing strategies and confirm eligibility for state scholarship programs.

All of the programs with MI Student Air are free and open to the public.

Sounds like a great place to get started or to make sure you haven't missed anything if college is just around the corner.
