West Michigan’s Worst Pothole Contest’s Winner Is From Holland: Cody Overway

There are definitely some rim-rattling potholes to be found in greater Grand Rapids and across West Michigan.

It's not difficult to find those stinkin' tire-killers! Just go out and drive a little.

One hundred thirty people from across Michigan shared what they believed were the worst potholes around and entered West Michigan's Worst Pothole Contest, sponsored by Schneider Tire Outlet, Inc., of Marne.

After poring through those eye-opening entries, West Michigan's Worst Pothole is found in Holland.

NCAA Tournament: Final Four Quest Ends for Michigan and Michigan State

The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament ended tantalizingly short of the Final Four for both Michigan State and Michigan on Sunday.

Second-seeded Michigan fell 75-72 to eighth-seeded Kentucky in the Midwest Region final in Indianapolis.

Fourth-seeded Michigan State lost 60-54 to seventh-seeded Connecticut in the East Region final in New York.

The regional results left the Big Ten Conference with just one team reaching the Final Four in Arlington, Texas, next weekend: Wisconsin.

NCAA Tournament — Wisconsin and Florida Reach Final Four

Wisconsin and Florida each won a regional championship on Saturday to advance to the NCAA Final Four in Arlington, Texas, next weekend.

Second-seeded Wisconsin defeated Arizona 64-63 in the West Region final in Anaheim, Calif. Top-seeded Florida ousted 11th-seeded Dayton 64-52 in the South Region final in Memphis.

NCAA Tournament — Michigan and Michigan State Reach Elite Eight

Michigan and Michigan State advanced to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament's Elite Eight on Friday night.

Second-seeded Michigan defeated Tennessee 74-71 in the Midwest Regional semifinals in Indianapolis, giving the Wolverines a Sunday date with Kentucky. The eighth-seeded Wildcats ousted the defending national champion Louisville Cardinals 74-69.

Fourth-seeded Michigan State outlasted top-seeded Virginia 61-59 in the East Regional semifinals in New York, giving the Spartans a Sunday date with Connecticut. The seventh-seeded Huskies defeated Iowa State 81-76.

Miguel Cabrera Inks Long-Term Deal With Detroit Tigers: Is It Worth It?

Today in Lakeland, Fla., the Detroit Tigers announced that first baseman Miguel Cabrera was signed to a long term deal worth $248 million over eight years.

Gov. Snyder: Marriages Were Legal, But Michigan Will Not Recognize Them Unless Stay Is Lifted [Video]

Michigan will not recognize the more than 300 same-sex marriages performed last weekend (though the marriages were performed legally at the time) before a court halted a decision that opened the door to gay marriage, Gov. Rick Snyder said Wednesday.

The announcement was made just a day after an appeals court  stopped any additional same-sex marriages while it reviews the decision that struck down a 2004 Michigan law that states that marriage only is between a man and a woman.
