Candidate’s Billboard Claims ‘I Won’t Steal And I Know How To Count’

Ann Collins is a Republican running for Treasurer in Bloomington, Indiana. She's gotten some attention (both positive and negative) for a billboard her campaign has purchased, which reads "I won't steal and I know how to count." Some people are saying it's great. Those are kind of the main two qualifications a person needs to be treasurer, right? But others, like her political opponent, are saying otherwise.

Is this kind of campaigning effective or not? Sure, the snappy, off-the-cuff tone makes her seem more realistic and less like a robotic politician. But the job she's running for is a serious one and the billboard simplifies what many would say are complicated problems that a treasurer would face in her day-to-day work.
