Star Wars is still one of the greatest movie sagas of all time.

The acting is corny, the effects are awesome, etc. When the original movie came out in 1977, it dazzled everyone! I was born in 1987, so I wasn't able to be as dazzled as 1977 kids were. With every popular game series, there is video games.

Star Wars is no exception to that rule.

In celebration of the May the 4th, let's take a look at some Star Wars games that are awesome.

Nothing new though, I am talking old school here!

  • Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (Nintendo 64)

This was the game that set the standard of Nintendo 64 games for me. The graphics were awesome, the game play was solid, and it was overall a fun game.

You played as Dash Rendar, a smuggler like Han Solo. A 3rd person action platformer that takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

It's a pretty solid game with a lot of hidden secrets, difficult bosses, and is overall a fun game. Sometimes the game does piss you off like the 'Swoop Level' or even the confusing 'Garbage Dump Level.'

It's one of the more fun games to play in the Star Wars video game series, and still generally holds up. I'd give it a shot if I were you.

  • Super Star Wars (SNES Series)

When it comes to Star Wars games, these are the standard for me.

Amazing soundtracks, solid gameplay, and you get to live out all of the awesome scenes from the movie in a video game! How cool is that?

The only downside to these games though, is the relentless difficulty. These are some insanely hard games! Especially Empire Strikes Back, just the first few levels are insane! Those damn Wampa's freeze you, and you are basically dead! So damn annoying!

Still a lot of fun, but get ready to get pissed.

  • Star Wars: Dark Forces (PC)

The first of it's kind when it come to Star Wars.

Take the game play of Doom and put it in the Star Wars universe, you get Star Wars: Dark Forces!

I don't know to much of the story on this game, I just remember wanting it when I was a kid. Plus, I only recently purchased the game for a measly $6.

It may be a little dated nowadays, but it's still fun. As long as you aren't tainted by the glistening new FPS games out there. If you're looking for a Star Wars FPS in it's infancy, look no further than Star Wars: Dark Forces.

  • Star Wars: Battlefront (PC, Xbox)

I'm starting to stretch the 'retro' aspect of this list with this one, but I can't deny how awesome this game it.

You finally get to live out your favorite Star Wars battles! It only took a billion years right?

This is probably my favorite Star Wars game of all time, it's just a lot of fun! Going around, capturing bases, taking out Storm Troopers, driving vehicles, defeating Jedi, etc.

If you were online? It was even crazier! You could easily have a blast of a time with players all around the world playing this game.

There is a new Star Wars: Battlefront in the works, hopefully it holds up like this one!
