An early morning shooting on 28th Street in Grand Rapids has left one person dead and eight others injured.

WZZM-13 reports that the incident happened at a large party inside the Clearance Outlet store on 28th Street near Kalamazoo Avenue.

Police were called to the scene around 3:45a.m. Sunday with noise complaints about a large party. They were on the way when they were notified shots had been fired.

Upon arrival police found more than 60 people at the Clearance Outlet. They found a black man in his 20s dead inside the building. The victim has been identified at 21-year-old Juwan Boykin.

Eight others had been hurt and were taken to area hospitals. They are all expected to recover.

Police are looking for a suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
