Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams was recently fined for an "obscene" touchdown celebration for $19,697. That's quite a bit more than a parking ticket.
The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is the one who finalizes players' and teams' fines in the NFL but where does the money go? In the NFL, discipline fines are split between the Players Assistance Trust and charitable organizations jointly determined by the league and the players association unless another agreement is reached.

Where Will The Fine Money for U of M and Ohio State Go?
The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes at the Shoe in Columbus Ohio, 13-10. The two teams are huge rivals so there is no love loss between the two.
Wolverine players had the bad idea of placing their "Block M" flag on Ohio State's midfield logo and this is what caused a major brawl between the two teams.
Since players on both teams threw punches the Big Ten issued a $100,000 fine to the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University, but where will the $200,000 go?
The Big Ten Conference uses the money collected from fines to fund the league's athletic departments.
Since the Big Ten is part of the NCAA some of the money will be used to fund the day-to-day operations including the national office, administrative and financial services, information technology, and facilities management.
