Michigan weather is no joke, one moment it's sunny and 65 the next day we might have a few inches of snow on the ground. Michigan has had some crazy natural disasters including One Of The Deadliest Tornados Of All Time.

How They Picked The Worst Natural Disaster In Each State

24/7 Wall St. reviewed natural disasters in each state and determined the worst event by the number of fatalities. For this list, they considered disasters caused by naturally occurring events, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, blizzards, floods, ice storms, heatwaves, avalanches, and volcanic eruptions.

They used government sources such as the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office, The National Oceanic, and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the United States Geological Survey as well as media reports about these events to create the list of the worst natural disaster in every state.

Michigan's worst natural disaster wasn't one of the deadliest tornadoes of all time, and, honestly, was something that I had never heard of. While some posit that it was related to the Great Chicago Fire, others have different ideas as to what caused our worst natural disaster. (Learn more in the video below.)
