Is Michigan One of the Most Dangerous States to Deliver?
We hear a lot about “porch pirates” stealing packages from our homes, but what about the dangers faced by the delivery drivers bringing those packages to our doorsteps? Is Michigan a dangerous place for delivery drivers?

Many years ago, milk and other grocery staples were delivered right to your home. As grocery stores evolved and began offering consumers more variety and convenience, people could easily pick up the items they needed whenever they needed them. Over time, many of those traditional home-delivery services disappeared as modern grocery shopping became the norm.
Some services from the past, including pizza, furniture, and U.S. mail, are still delivered today, but the way they are delivered has changed over the years.

Delivery Drivers: Is Michigan One of the Riskiest States?
Today, deliveries have become a major part of everyday life, with companies and services such as Amazon, Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, FedEx, UPS, DHL, and many others bringing everything from groceries and meals to packages right to our doorsteps. But while delivery has become more convenient than ever, the risks faced by the people making those deliveries can vary significantly from one state to another. In fact, Mississippi ranks as the most dangerous state in the United States for delivery drivers.
Michigan’s neighboring state of Illinois ranked No. 10 among the most dangerous states for delivery drivers. According to a study conducted by AutoDS, Michigan ranked No. 16, with road conditions, dog attacks, and vehicle theft among the factors contributing to its ranking.
The study was based on crime, dog attack, road deaths, and commute time. Only 29 states were in the study with Michigan landing around the middle of the pack.
